Silk is a Canadian born academic. Silk was raised in Fredericton. She was the daughter of Peter Silk, a professor, and Ilkay Silk, an acclaimed actor, director, producer, educator, playwright as well as Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna is a part early memories of going to rehearsals of plays. Silk was featured in many commercials while she was just a child. She graduated from St. Thomas University with the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997. Theatre St. Thomas produced two of its first productions, Seven Menus, and The Kitchen. Silk began her acting career by moving to Toronto, Canada, in November of 1999. She then moved to Los Angeles for the remainder of that decade. Seth Cooperman became her husband in 2007, when they met at an actor's' Workshop located in Los Angeles. The couple got engaged in 2009 and wed in a civil ceremony ceremony that took place in December. When she converted to Judaism, they renewed their wedding vows during the Jewish ceremony on April 10th 2011.
